Neighbouring the Duke of Bedford’s Woburn Abbey estate Tingrith is a three lake complex in 21 acres of the finest Bedfordshire countryside, where idyllic and relaxing surroundings are as memorable as the fishing.Offering distinctly varied sport you can catch mixed nets of traditional species or choose to target specimen carp and even monster catfish. Designated an area of great landscape value Tingrith is home to a host of animals and birds, including deer, foxes, badgers, rabbits, shrews, weasels, stoats, green woodpeckers, buzzards, kestrels and sparrow hawks. There is secure car parking on site, and helpful friendly staff offer advice to guide you through tackle and bait choices whether a newcomer or an experienced big fish specialist. Access is good throughout with several swims suitable for disabled access. Clean toilets and washing facilities plus The Hungry Perch café seating 40 and offering quality breakfasts, lunches and snacks from local produce make it a comfortable fishery whatever the weather and however long your stay. Specific catering requirements can also be accommodated such as post-match barbecues if arranged in advance. The Bait Cabin is Tingrith’s on site shop selling maggots, pellets and boilies plus tackle from major companies like Drennan, Fox, Browning and Zebco. With prior notice tackle hire is also available, and there are several qualified angling coached available to help you brush up your skills during your visit. Open all year round Tingrith is easily accessed from junction 12 of the M1 and is within a few miles of Flitwick, Westoning, Tingrith and Toddington.

The Lakes: Fringe Pool nearest the car park is around 1.5 acres and with just 20 swims. It has an abundant array of species making it the ideal beginners' pool and an extremely popular choice for clubs wanting a slightly different competitive experience. Famed for crucian carp to 3 lb, these pretty fish have been caught in nets to 75 lb in just three hours. Golden rudd and roach fishing can also be spectacular. On Fringe the next bite can bring anything with carp to 20 lb, specimen roach to 3 lb, brown goldfish, tench to 6 lb, golden orfe, perch to 4 lb and gudgeon to a whopping 3 oz! More challenging fishing is found on Orchid at six acres and with 40 pegs. Containing a huge head of specimen carp including mirrors to 32 lb, ghost carp to 27 lb, commons to 29 lb and even catfish to 48 lb! Boilies work best for the big fish and floaters are excellent for carp in summer. Night fishing is available across the complex but most popular on Orchid with plenty of space for bivvies. Night sessions are best booked in advance. Winter matches bring 20 lb nets of solid roach and Orchid also holds double-figure tench, quality rudd, crucians, perch, barbel, chub and bream. Whether float fishing in the margins for summer carp or feeder fishing for quality winter chub and roach Cherry is popular with clubs and pleasure anglers. It has 25 well spaced pegs and produces nets to 80 lb of thumping carp from double-figures to 20 lb along with chub to 6 lb, tench to 7 lb, quality rudd, perch and crucians |

| FISHERY RULESGeneral Fishery RegulationsThe fishery regulations are in place to safeguard the welfare of the fish and their natural habitat.We strive to ensure that water quality and fish health are of the highest order.This philosophy extends to the quality of the environment around the lakes; the pathways,the woodland and bank side vegetation.Please assist us to maintain these high standards by abiding by the following regulations. Absolutely no litter or line to be discarded No Keepnets (unless by arrangement) No Carp Sacs whatsoever allowed on the site All fish of 20lb and above must be reported to the management before return All Catfish caught must be reported Barbless hooks only Two rods maximum Each angler must have a landing net No lure fishing No live or dead baiting No bait boats or similar No use of fixed "method" or fixed bolt rigs No walking with rods, one swim per angler Do not use hook lengths of same strength as or heavier than main line. No Sweetcorn / luncheon meat type tins or glass bottles on the bank No nuts, beans, chickpeas or seed mixes Do not leave baited rods unattended Do not handle fish with a cloth, either wet or dry Do not carry fish between swims in any circumstances No fires (including disposable BBQs) No radios without headphones No dogs No alcohol Use an unhooking mat at all times All fish must be returned, alive, to the water at point of capture Juniors not allowed unaccompanied except by arrangement Any angler found using the grounds as a toilet will be asked to leave immediately Please note the management reserve the right unconditionally to ask any angler to leave the lakes.A flat fee of £5 will be made for any angling equipment that has to be rescued by fishery staff.Match Regulations - as above plusTwo nets are to be used when fishing in competitions.One for carp and one for other species (to protect them at the weigh in stage).Nets can be hired from the fishery at a cost of £2 Fish must be kept in nets not longer than 5 hoursNets must be a minimum of 3 metres longPlease ensure the nets are spread out and do not collapse on the fishDo not put fish over 6lb into keep nets - weigh them and return them immediatelyDo not throw excess bait into the water at the end of the match.Please dispose of it in the bins provided at the entrance to the fishery.Match results must be reported to the fishery manager on the dayAll swims must be cleared of litter and line before anglers leave Platforms and banks are used at patrons' own riskPlease be sensible when leaving tackle and equipment unattended. Please note that the fishery management cannot take responsibility for theft or damage. |
