One of the longest established Premier venues Bury Hill Fisheries offers an incredible variety of sport, with ton-up hauls of tench and bream, near 40 lb pedigree English carp and record shaking 16 lb-plus zander. Situated just outside Dorking and only 20 miles from central London Bury Hill comprises four lakes totalling 22 acres of water. Whether you are looking for a day’s tench and bream fishing, carp crunching action on the pole, outstanding predator sport or specimen carp fishing you will find it all in the most beautiful surroundings at the foot of the Surrey Hills. The approach to Bury Hill is spectacular, through a rhododendron lined drive, dropping away to reveal the 200-year-old Old Lake, surrounded by lilies and irises. Every aspect of angler comfort has been considered from generous car parking to flat, gravelled paths around all the lakes, purpose designed and constructed disabled friendly platforms and clean, heated toilets and shower facilities. An advanced water recirculation system constantly refreshes the Old Lake’s water to ensure hard fighting, healthy fish. A recently expanded tackle shop offers everything you need whether looking for basic tackle to get you started, the latest hardware from big brands such as Shimano, Korum and Fox or important rig bits from Korda or ESP. A full range of bait is also on offer including frozen boilies, groundbaits, pellets, fresh maggots, caster and worms. The lakeside café offers quality hot and cold snacks made from fresh local ingredients served overlooking stunning views of the Old Lake or to be taken away and enjoyed at your peg. Lush beds of lilies and mature trees fringe the picturesque Old Lake, which is famed for its unique punts that allow anglers to fish comfortably afloat, investigating even the most inaccessible fish holding hotspots in The Jungle. Further down the valley Bonds and Milton Lakes have been designed to offer a variety of swims and features for each and every angler whether targeting crucians and tench on the pole or hauling small carp. The newest addition to the Bury Hill complex Temple Lake is one of the finest big carp fisheries in the UK with close to 100 carp averaging upper 20s and a great chance of action with hand picked 30-pounders which make up a good proportion of the stock.
...................................................................................................................... The Lakes The Old Lake stretches across 12.5 acres with 75 pegs. A truly mixed fishery, double-figure and 20 lb carp are numerous with plenty of 30s to nudging 40 lb caught each season. Pike top 20 lb, Zander run to 16 lb and quality tench and bream average well over 5 lb with the chance of a 10-pounder in regular ton-up and double ton-up hauls. Bonds at 20 pegs is devoted to small carp action, fish averaging 3-5 lb but reaching double-figures giving pole elastic a workout in pleasure nets to 300 lb with tench, Rudd, bream and roach adding variety. The two hour match record stands at an amazing 110 lb. Milton’s 30 pegs next door offers a more varied stock away from intensive carp hauling, with large numbers of Crucian, tench, bream, roach and perch plus the odd smaller carp for fantastic mixed pleasure hauls to 250 lb. A fantastic winter venue you can find nets to 70 lb of quality roach, Rudd and perch with specimen fish to over 3lb. Temple Lake is Bury Hill’s land of the giants where every take brings a hand picked common, mirror or ghost carp well over 20 lb, with as many as a third of the 100 strong stock over 30 lb. Designed and dug to offer every peg a number of underwater features and with large, flat gravelled swims to take the biggest bivvies for long sessions Temple offers big carp fishing at its very best to a selected membership. |
